Dr. Aziz Shafi has ten years experience in the field
Experimental Nuclear Physics. He has worked with MonteCarlo Simulations
used to predict real time behavior of instruments and detectors; high
rate data acquisition systems; detector instrumentation calibration,
design, testing and installation in both the Photon Tagger at the Cebaf
Large Acceptance Spectrometer at the Thomas Jefferson National
Accelerator Facility and at the Crystal Ball spectrometer at Brookhaven
National Laboratory. Analysis work included extremely stringent signal
to background rejection algorithms in multichannel analysis. He is an
entrepreneur and principle of a micro-niche business. Dr. Shafi has
made numerous presentations and is listed in proceedings of conferences
including NATO sponsored nuclear physics workshops, and American
Physical Society DNP. He has authored or co-authored 48 refereed papers
in Physics Letters, Physical Review and Physical Review Letters.
Dr. Shafi has B.S. from Illinois Wesleyan University, and a Ph.D. from The George Washington University, Washington, DC.
Dr. Shafi is fluent in English and Bengali, and has a working knowledge of French and Italian.
