Dr. Shahid Aslam

Dr. Shahid Aslam has more than twenty years experience in the field of novel detector R&D, space instrument design and systems integration. He has had leadership roles at Hughes STX, Raytheon ITSS, Oxford University (UK), Data Magnetics Ltd. (UK). Dr. Aslam’s highlights include the development of thin filmsputtered media for the hard disc drive industry. Dr. Aslam has authored or co-authored more than 40 refereed papers and was the recipient of the prestigious NASA public service award medal for major contributions to the development of GaN detector technology in 2005.
Dr. Aslam has B.Sc and M.Sc in Physics from University of London, UK and a Ph.D from the University of Oxford, UK.
Dr. Aslam is fluent in English and has some working knowledge of Urdu and Punjabi.
